I’m intentionally adding more WOW! Moments into my life. I’m also on the lookout for those that happen organically. Here are five WOWs that happened last week:
1. I worked with an “anonymous otter.” I’m working with a coach on a personal development plan, and we were reviewing a Google doc I had created. I noticed that he had been assigned the identity “anonymous otter.” Otters hold a special meaning for my family, and the random assignment of that specific animal made me feel like David is with me and I’m on the right path.
2. I had my energy read. I’m a writer, and one of the perks of my job is talking to interesting people. I interviewed someone who reads auras. She said my first level was green, which is the most positive color to see. She told me green symbolizes spring and a new beginning. Then she said she saw a lightning bolt that was dividing my energy in half. She asked if I was trying to decide between two paths. I told her my husband had died, and I feel like my life is starting over. I’m a visual learner, and the image of lightning hitting my life felt like a WOW!
3. I was an extra. One of the items on my WOW! List is to be an extra on a movie or TV show. I signed up to be part of an ESPN promotion, and I was chosen! I can’t divulge the details until September 2, 2023 (and I don’t know if I’ll make the final cut), but I can tell you I danced in the Tennessee heat for four hours to a live concert given by some of country’s hottest stars.

4. I walked by the barn. The promo was filmed at the farm where we had our family photos taken earlier this year. On the way to my car, I walked right past the barn where we had all been together so happily a short time ago. I stood there, taking in the moment and feeling reconnected to the past.
5. I enjoyed silver queen corn. Someone on my Nextdoor app recommended a local produce stand and mentioned that their latest variety of corn was the best they’d ever had. My dad and I drove 30 minutes to there to get some, and they were sold out. Luckily, though, a delivery truck was on its way and arrived five minutes later. We bought a dozen, and I agree with the Nextdoor poster. Silver queen corn definitely deserves a crown.
What did you do this week that made you say “WOW!”?

1. I got to see my son for the first in 2 months after him being overseas.
2. I spent time thinking about all the wonderful moments I’ve had with my 16 year old dog. I cuddle him all the time. But this was different – really taking it in.
3. I closed my eyes while in my kayak in the middle of the lake and really felt the world around me – the water moving, the birds, the wind.
I love these!!
