It’s time for another episode of Weekly WOWs. Like most series, some weeks are more exciting than others. And this is one of those weeks where there weren’t many plot twists. But that’s OK. Here are a few notable happenings that are still worth listing.
I made a new friend. OK. He’s a cicada. And he mentioned that he’s bringing with him a few hundred thousand of his closest pals. If you’re not in the South, you may not be aware of these crazy creatures with the big red eyes that hibernate and come out more than a decade later after having a good long rest. This year, two broods—the 13-year and 17-year cicadas—are arriving at the same time. I was in Nashville for the last go-round, so it will be interesting.

I went to a musical. My friend Vicki invited my sister and I to go to Menopause: The Musical 2 with her and a group of her friends. It was fun. I laughed. I cried. I did not wet my pants, even when they sang an ode to Depends. At the end, the cast sung I Feel Like a Woman. The entire audience stood up and danced.
I had Chicago pizza! When you grow up in Illinois, you are accustomed to good pizza. I had heard of a place in Nashville that served authentic Chicago-style pizza. So, my sister and I went after the play. Let’s just say, it represented. Delish!
I visited my sister’s new office!! OMG Things are getting real. My sister is a genius. Growing up, I was the smart one and she was the pretty one. Welp, she’s got both titles now. Damn. She launched a line of topical vitamins called Gutless Topicals that allow you to bypass your gut and get your RDA. I’ve been using her products for at least a year (pEace vitamin E balm is my fav) and my skin has never looked better. She was able to move her business into her own office space. I’m. So. Freaking. Proud.
Your turn. What were your WOWs this past week?
